Awards and Accomplishments

Carver has an excellent teaching staff and a hard-working School Improvement Council.  We are proud of our parents, students, and teachers.  They make Carver Elementary School a "Great Place to Learn."

  • Won the Reading Renaissance Model School Award for five years

  • Won the Literacy Spot Award for the 1999-2000 school year

  • Have an active PTO (Parent-Teacher Organization) and a hard working School Improvement Council

  • Student participation in Jump Rope for Heart for the past five years to raise money to fight against heart disease

  • Won the Healthy School Award in 2001 from the Governor's Council on Fitness

  • Received the Physical Fitness Award in 2001

  • Won an Award of Excellence for the quarterly Bear Facts Newsletter in 2001 from the Publications and Electronic Media Organization

  • Interactive hands-on Science lab for 5K-4th grade students with full-time certified teacher

  • Have Technology Lead Teachers in grades K-4 and Special Areas

  • Over half of Carver teachers hold advanced degrees

  • Recipient of the South Carolina Red Carpet Award in 2002

  • Selected as a South Carolina School of Promise in 2002

  • Received Palmetto Silver Award in 2002

  • Award of Excellence from Publications and Electronic Media in 2002

  • Received "Excellent" for Absolute Score in 2003 on School Report Card

  • Exceed district and state PACT scores for reading and math, 2004

  • Met Adequate Yearly Progress (AYP) in 2004

  • Voted "Best of the Pee Dee" in 2004

  • Received "Excellent" for Absolute Score and "Good" for Improvement Rating on School Report Card in 2004

  • Recognized in 2005 for closing the achievement gap among students
