Clubs

After-school clubs at Carver will be made available to 4th grade students.  The activities will run from 2:20 - 3:15 the 2nd and 4th Tuesdays of each month.  If your child has been selected for chorus, he/she is not eligible to participate in another club.  Students must be picked up by 3:15 on club days and must not receive more than two discipline forms.  Good character allows students to participate in this special privilege. 

Carver Cares Club:  Sponsored by Ms. Tamara Smith and Ms. Tammy Peterson

This club's focus will be to organize and promote community service projects within our school that will give back to our community.  Some projects this club will be involved with include, but are not limited to, the following:  Shoeboxes for Operation Christmas Child, canned food drive for Harvest Hope Food Bank, Pennies for Patients, and supplies for the House of Hope.  Community Action Requires Everyone!

Sketchbook:  Sponsored by Ms. Jeffords

For students who love to draw!  Students will sketch objects and scenes around the school, experimenting with different drawing media.  Students will need to supply their own pencil, eraser, and pencil sharpener.  Learn to be an artist or have fun trying!

Better Learning Bears:  Sponsored by Ms. Sprenger and Ms. Brown

Become a Better Learning Bear by playing games and doing fun activities.  This club is designed to teach study skills such as listening carefully, following directions, giving directions, and being responsible for schoolwork.  Some cooking will be involved!

Sports of All Sorts:  Sponsored by Ms. Gunter and Ms. B. Davis

For boys and girls who love sports!  Learn about different games and how to play them while also learning about teamwork and cooperation.  Some of the many games planned are volleyball, kickball, and scooter hockey.

WCBMS Club - Welcome Carver Bears Morning Show: Sponsored by Ms. Heimbrook

Students in this club will run the Morning Show program including the anchor, camera, and other aspects of the show.  Students will work with software that will add creativity to the Morning Show. Students have auditioned and been chosen for this club.  They may not participate in another 4th grade club if they are on the Morning Show.

Techno Pros:  Sponsored by Ms. Goin and Ms. Dubose

Club members will have hands-on experience in using a digital camera.  By the end of the school year, students will become "pros" at editing their photos and inserting them into a variety of documents.  They will also create a number of projects using their photos.

Carver Chorus: Sponsored by Mr. Moody

Students selected for the Carver Chorus will perform for school functions as well as community events (Music in our School Month, holiday performances, etc.)  During auditions, students must qualify according to the All-State Elementary Honors Choir criteria.  This club meets every Tuesday.
