Visitors from the Florence Humane Society, Katy Hollingsworth and Agnes Wilcox , visited the first graders at North Vista Elementary School October 24, 2008. The students learned about the role of the Humane Society and about “pet care!” During the program, the students were able to “pet” the four puppies that also joined us!

The children were given pencils and a copy of “The Ten Commandments of Pet Care.” Each first grade teacher received a T-shirt.

To show the students’ appreciation, the first graders held a two -week drive and brought in items such as food, towels, and cleaning supplies to donate to the Humane Society. The visit was quite a success! Teachers and students wanted to “thank” the staff and volunteers of the Humane Society for all of their good work!
