Reading Recovery at Royall is exciting!! It is an early intervention program for first grade students who are having difficulty in learning to read and write. The students learn effective strategies in order to become fluent readers and writers. The teacher works daily with four children on a one-on-one basis for 30 minutes. The teachers work with small groups in the classrooms the remainder of the day. We strive to give our first grade children a strong foundation in reading and writing. Our goal is for all Royall first grade students to become independent readers and writers and develop a life-long love of reading!
