Third grade is a year filled with many challenges. Students are required to become more independent learners and to be responsible for materials, home assignments, research and other projects. Royall third graders always look forward to perfecting their cursive writing skills. In addition, Students are presented with the challenge of learning multiplication and division facts (0-9) with the expectation of successfully completing timed tests on both operations. After being introduced to the rich history of South Carolina, third graders are invited to participate in a field trip to the State Museum and the State House in Columbia at the end of the year. There they are able to see first hand much of what they have studied. Third grade is an exciting year!
