TECHNIQUE EVALUATION

2006-2007

Each student will be evaluated on:

Correct Position (worth 25 points)

R Sits in front of the computer;

R Sits straight with both feet on the floor;

R Wrists are slightly raised; not touching the keyboard or the desk;

R Fingers are slightly curved with tips touching the keyboard;

R Eyes are on the copy and not looking back and forth from book to monitor;

Correct Fingering (worth 35 points)

R Uses all fingers on the correct keys;

R Hands are still;

R Uses quick keystrokes;

R Presses the space bar with the right thumb;

R Presses the Shift keys with the correct little finger;

R Presses the Tab key with the left little finger;

R Presses the backspace and the enter key with the right little finger;

Classwork Behavior (worth 40 points)

R Works quietly;

R Follows directions;

R Pays attention;

Rating Scale:

5 Excellent

4 Very Good

3 Good

2 Improvement Needed

1 Unsatisfactory (incorrect)
