Dr. Allie E. Brooks, Jr., Interim Superintendent, was recently named and recognized as Citizen of the Month by the Florence City Council.

Jeannine Franco of South Florence High is one of ten teachers in the state who has been selected to participate in the STAR Program. STAR, which is an acronym for Strategies for Teacher Advancement and Renewal, is a program that recognizes and rewards outstanding veteran South Carolina teachers.


Faith Based Initiative - Established in 2006, the Faith Based Initiative has four major components:  a. mentoring/tutoring; b. good news clubs; c. Christian Learning Centers; d. adopt-a-school program. Click HERE for application

Graduate Florence - Under Graduate Florence, this year's Opening Doors to the Future Day will be held on Saturday, August 21st. Training for volunteers will begin at 8:30 a.m. in the Poynor Auditorium. For the third year in a row, volunteers will go door to door working to reclaim dropouts. Click HERE for details.

The Florence One Board of Trustees approved plans for site work for the Relief Elementary School and a new middle school.  Click HERE for  Public Forums Schedule
