One of the most important security features in Accelerated Reader is the "lockout" function. This feature monitors the student log-in process and tracks the number of times a student tries to use an incorrect password to log in. If the student enters an incorrect password too many times, Accelerated Reader "locks" access to the student record. A student whose record is locked cannot log in to the Student Program until the lockout is cleared. Teachers with Administrator access to the program can clear student security lockouts at any time. Other teachers can do so only if the Administrator has enhanced the teacher privileges.
1 Select Students from the School section of the Go menu. This will take you to the Student management screen.
2 Select each of the student records for which you want to clear the lockout. Remember to press the <Shift> or <Ctrl> key if you want to select more than one student.
3 Select Clear Lock from the Students menu or select Clear All Locks to clear
everyone at Delmae.
4 Click [Yes] to clear the lockout from the selected student records.
