Hurricane Warning means "hurricane will be here in 24 hours, prepare your home and family." - Disaster Supply Kit – first aid supplies, dry or canned food (enough to last your family 3 days), bottled water (3 gallons for each family member), extra change of clothes for each family member, protective clothes, health/medical supplies and medications, battery powered lights and radios with extra batteries, blankets and sleeping bags, and special items for young children and elderly family members. - They know where the nearest shelter is: Wilson High School, South Florence High School. They know how to get to the shelter. They know not to bring valuables, alcohol, or weapons to the shelter. - Additional tips: You have picked up or tied down anything that might fly away outside; your car is filled with gas; relatives know if you are staying at home or going to a shelter; if staying, bathtubs filled with water and a battery powered radio with extra batteries is used to listen to weather updates. - For additional information contact the American Red Cross at 662-8121.
