Briggs Elementary completed a Pumpkin Book Character Contest sponsored by the Briggs APT. Parents, students, and teachers were invited to vote for their favorites in five different categories.
Most Unique The Winners are… Most Overall Votes: Mrs. Thompkins’ Third Grade Class did Captain Underpants. Her class will receive a $50 set of books for her classroom library and a pizza party. Most Creative: Mrs. Garrison’s Fourth Grade Class did Pippi Longstocking. Her class will receive a $50 set of books for her classroom library. Most Lovable: Mr. Camlin’s Fifth Grade Class did The Tale of Despereaux. His class will receive a $50 set of books for his classroom library. Looks Most Like Book Character:
Ms. Coleman’s Fifth Grade Class did Curious George and the Man with the Yellow
Hat. Her class will receive a $50 set of books for her classroom library.
Most Unique: Mrs. Thompson’s Sixth Grade Class did Mrs. Frizzle from the Magic School Bus series. Her class will receive a $50 set of books for her classroom library.
