Text Box: Another school year has begun. The first grade students are excited about learning and we’re off to a great start. Remember to read with your children daily for 20 minutes. Have them read aloud to you and ask them questions about Text Box: what they have read. Be sure to sign your child’s reading log daily. Your child can read books from school, home, or the library. In math we have been working on number words one through twenty, counting , and adding up to nine. Text Box: We’re learning to recognize our coins. We are beginning to learn how to recognize “telling time’ by the hour and half hour. Please help your child learn to read the number words and write the numbers 1-20.
