Dear Parent/Guardians,

As part of North Vista Elementary School’s continuing efforts to make sure that No Child is Left Behind, we are focusing on good attendance for all our students.

Research confirms that students who do not attend regularly eventually fail in school academically.  Academic failure discourages children and results in discipline problems.  Failure in early elementary grades indicates your child may not graduate from high school.

We are asking for your help as parent(s) to see that they come to school every day. 

When your child is absent, please send a medical note or parent note for all days missed.

With the No Child Left Behind law, Florence # 1 is focusing on truancy.

Truancy is 3 in a row or 5 unverified absences.
