Dear Students and Parents,
Welcome to North Vista Elementary School, home of the Tiger
Cubs! I am excited to be back at North Vista as principal. It
is with pleasure that I continue to serve the community in this
role. The door at North Vista is always open. I will value your
input, thoughts and feedback throughout the year. I look forward
to partnering together with the parents, staff, students and the
community to best support our children.
North Vista Elementary is a fantastic learning environment for
all of our students. We provide a strong academic program
designed to meet the needs of all our learners. It is our
mission to…”Increase the achievement of all
students—Academically, Socially and Emotionally”.
The
staff of North Vista has very high levels of expertise. They
operate in strong grade level and building teams; working
cooperatively to provide students with exceptional instructional
experiences. The talents and skills of each student and staff
member alike are fostered so that learning is maximized. In
addition to the regular classroom instruction, students attend
classes in art, music, physical education, and technology. Our
special needs program is available for qualifying students as
well.
Over
the course of the school year there are many opportunities for
students to become involved. We have a Beta Club, Drum line,
Step Team, Art Club, K-Kids Club, and intramural activities. We
also participate in supporting local and world needs such as
raising money for the United Way and American Cancer Society,
collecting food to be donated to the local food banks and
collecting special items for children in Nicaragua (Operation
Christmas Child). We are proud of our very active student body.
We are also fortunate to have an active PTA and supportive
business community.
The
North Vista Elementary School is a wonderful place to be a
student. We are proud to offer a safe, caring environment, which
allows children to experience the joy of learning in a positive
place. The North Vista Staff welcomes you and your children to
cross the “Threshold of Learning”. I look forward to
reconnecting or meeting with you soon and throughout the school
year.
Respectfully,
Sharon R. Dixon |
