Welcome to First Grade
Ms. Brown received a BS in Early Childhood Education from Francis Marion University and is perusing her masters from Lesley University. This is her second year teaching at Savannah Grove Elementary.
Mrs. Fortnum received a BA in Sociology from Francis Marion University and a Masters in Social Work from University of South Carolina. Then she went on for a teaching degree in Early Childhood Education from Francis Marion University. This is her nineteenth year teaching at Savannah Grove Elementary. She loves working with small children and spending time with family and friends.
Mrs. Fuentes is in her third year as an assistant at Savannah Grove, her second year in first grade. She loves working with first grade teachers and all students. In her spare time she enjoys cooking, reading, and spending time with family and friends.
Mrs. Horn earned a BS in Elementary Education with a 5K Endorsement from the University of Louisville. She has a Masters degree in Elementary Education from Western Kentucky University as well. Mrs. Horn has teaching experience in Kentucky, Indiana, Georgia and South Carolina; where she has spent the past 16 years at Savannah Grove. She also has National Board Certification as an Early Childhood Generalist. In her leisure time she likes to travel, read, and spend time with family.
Mrs. Lewellyn received her BS degree from Francis Marion University. She also received her Master’s degree from Lesley University in Education with specialization in the creative arts. This is Mrs. Lewellyn’s eighth year at Savannah Grove. She has taught fourth grade, first grade, and was a Pact Coach in Lamar, SC. Mrs. Lewellyn enjoys swimming, eating, and spending time with her family.
Miss Mathews received her B.S. in Early Childhood Education from South Carolina State University and her Masters of Education from South Carolina State University. She has just completed a Masters of Science in Elementary Reading and Literacy from Walden University. Miss Matthews is National Board Certified in Early Childhood Generalist. This is her twenty-fourth year of teaching and her third year at Savannah Grove. Miss Matthews believes all children can learn and she enjoys teaching them.
