During the 2005-2006 school year, three
teachers at Wallace Gregg, Mrs.
Wanda Granger, Mrs. Lisa Johnson and Mrs. Marcia
Little, won $250.00 grants from the Pee Dee Federal Credit Union for the 05-06
school year. In addition, Mrs. Lisa Johnson and Ms. Claire Langston, also won $100.00
mini-grants from the Beta Gamma Chapter of the Delta Kappa Gamma International
Society for classroom projects. |

Wallace Gregg is proud to announce
that all of the Annual Yearly Progress targets were met for 2005 and 2004 school
years. We
also earned a Silver Award in recognizing high levels of academic achievement
and academic improvement in our PACT test scores in 2004. |

The School Foundation
implemented a grant for the first grade Literacy Lab at Wallace Gregg in 2004. This
grant was proposed by a teacher at another elementary school in FSD1 but was
replicated at Wallace Gregg and one other elementary school. The Literacy Lab
has continued to serve all first graders in reading and writing each year. |

Wallace-Gregg
Elementary School earned national recognition as a Renaissance
Master School for 2003-2004 by
Renaissance Learning
a Madison, Wisconsin company. The award was achieved through the schools
exemplary
implementation of the Reading Renaissance Program. The second
school in Florence District One to achieve this honor, Wallace-Gregg
is also the second school in South Carolina to accomplish that goal.
