Wilson High School

An International Baccalaureate School
Organizations The Wilson Boy's Civitans Club was chartered in April 1977. It is a school and community service organization open to all students. Other members serve as district officers. Our club assisted in the MS Bike Tour, the Pee Dee Mental Health Center Christmas Program, and our club along with the Civinettes sponsored a can drive to collect canned goods for the Manna House of Florence, SC. Some of our club members volunteer their time to tutor students at Williams Middle School, our feeder Middle School. Our state organization sponsors overnight trips for our members in locations such as Myrtle Beach Columbia, and Charleston SC. This allows our members to meet and interact with other members of Junior Civitan International. These meetings have business sessions as well as activities such as dances, ice-skating, or outings that give the members from different clubs from our state to get to know each other. Our club is a very diverse group of multiple ethnicities, backgrounds, and cultures. This is one of the many factors that has made our club so successful and enjoyable. Civitans WWHS News is a live student produced program that is broadcast over the school's closed circuit network daily. News, sports, and announcements as well as special presentations are aired each morning The Wilson Civinettes is a community service club that was chartered in 1977. The club has worked very hard to complete many different types of projects. The Civinettes raise money for the McLeod Children's Hospital and the Multiple Sclerosis Bike-A-Thon, they collect canned food items for the Manna House, the local soup kitchen, they help with the Special Olympics, the provide a breakfast for teachers at the beginning of the year and they help teachers decorate their classrooms. The Wilson Civinettes were the 1996 International Club of the Year and have won many other district and international awards. This Civinette Club is a hard working group of young ladies who enjoy serving their club, their school and their community
