• Explanation of Technology Proficiency and Documentation

South Carolina Legislation: Proviso 1.40 (SDE: Teacher Recertification – Technology) states:

To ensure the effective and efficient use of the funding provided by the General Assembly in Part IA, Section 1 X.C. for school technology in the classroom and internet access, the State Department of Education shall approve teacher technology competency standards required by local school districts as part of the Teacher Professional Development Plan. Approval of the teacher technology standards by the Department shall be a prerequisite for expenditure of district technology funds. Teachers must demonstrate proficiency in these standards and be validated by the school district.
