• Teacher Technology Proficiency Proviso

    Teachers can select Option One which will require one artifact for evidence or Option Two which will require two artifacts. The two options reflect varying levels of proficiency. 


    Option One

    You must provide documentation for ONE of the requirements below.

    Curriculum Specific Lesson Plans

    Design three curriculum–specific lesson plans (using the lesson plan template) that integrate technology using one or more of the following applications: video clips, word processing activity, digital presentations, spreadsheets, databases, Internet site activity, web pages, graphing calculators, probes, coding, virtual reality or SMART Boards.  The lesson plan should be detailed enough that it can be replicated by another teacher.

    • Artifacts to submit may include:
      • PDF Documentation of Lesson Plan

    Technology Course

    Teach and/or facilitate a three-hour graduate or recertification technology course (or the equivalent).

    • Artifacts to submit may include:
      • Copy of the Syllabus
      • Copy of Sign-in Sheet

    School-wide Technology Night

    Coordinate a school-wide technology night (Guidelines provided upon request).

    • Artifacts to submit may include:
      • Announcements for Technology Night
      • Sign-in Sheet
      • Handouts and/or Agendas

    Google Classroom

    Design a Google Classroom for students that utilizes the assignment, grading, and collaboration features to facilitate blended learning for a project, course work or extended assignment.

    • Artifacts to submit may include:
      • Invite Evaluator as Co-teacher in Classroom

    G Suite for Education (Google Apps for Education)

    Incorporate G Suite for Education into their curriculum for collaborative student use in a project, course work or extended assignment.

    • Artifacts to submit may include:
      • Evidence of G Suite in Lesson Plans
      • Audio, Pictures, or Video of Student Engagement with G Suite
      • Samples of Student Projects/Products

    State Testing Coordinator

    Coordinate online state testing for your school (EOC, SC Ready, SC PASS, MAP)

    • Artifacts to submit may include:
      • PDF Documentation signed by school administrator

    School Subsite Director

    Maintain a public school website. Websites must comply with the FSD1 Web Publishing Guidelines. Content must be related to school or district sponsored activities, timely and accurate, and free of grammatical and spelling errors. All links should be active and checked regularly to insure appropriateness of content. Website must adhere to ADA compliance guidelines.

    Submitting Your Artifacts


    To submit your documentation, open Option 1 in the Tech Proviso Google Classroom to see the YOUR WORK section.  

    1. Then to attach an item, click Add and the type of attachment you wish to submit:
      Drive google drive icon , Link link icon , or File file icon
    2. In the private comment box, type the name(s) of the documentation you’re uploading (i.e. PDF of Email Announcement).
    3. Click TURN IN and confirm.

     

    Option Two

    You must provide documentation for TWO of the requirements below.

    Curriculum Specific Lesson Plan

    Classroom Website

    Create and maintain a public classroom website. Websites must include the following components:  subject-area standards (state, national, ISTE, other); classroom rules and procedures; grading rules and procedures; lesson plans, assignments or newsletters (must be current) and sample of student work.  All FSD1 web publishing guidelines must be followed. Samples of student work must have a parental authorization form on file at your school.  

    • Artifacts to submit may include:
      • URL for the Website

    Technology Workshop for Teachers

    Plan and conduct a technology workshop for teachers. These workshops can be district level or school level. Examples include FSD1 Professional Practices Conference, district trainings, or trainings at faculty meetings.

    • Artifacts to submit may include:
      • Announcements for Workshops
      • Sign-in Sheet
      • Handouts and/or Agendas  

    State or National Technology Conference

    Present at a state or national technology conference.

    • Artifacts to submit may include:
      • Copy of Program Book and/or URL to Session
      • Handouts and/or Agendas

    Technology Course or Technology Trainings

    Take a technology course or attend technology training sessions in the equivalent of 3 hours recertification or graduate credit (45 contact hours). The Read to Succeed courses may be used to meet this requirement.

    • Artifacts to submit may include:
      • Certificate of Completion
      • Copy of Transcript Reflecting Course Taken (redact SSN)
      • Log Sheet Signed by Administrator

    Google Educator Certification

    Obtain one Google Educator Certification. See the Google for Education Training Center.

    • Artifacts to submit may include:
      • Certificate of Completion

    Technology Grant

    Write a grant for technology (minimum of $1000).

    • Artifacts to submit may include:
      • Copy of the Grant or URL to the Grant Online

    MAP Testing

    Proctor/Administer the MAP test for students.

    • Artifacts to submit may include:
      • PDF Documentation signed by MAP Coordinator

    School/Classroom Technology Showcase

    Organize and conduct a classroom technology fair or showcase.  Or assist in the planning and implementation of school technology night.

    • Artifacts to submit may include:
      • Announcements for Fair or Showcase
      • Sign-in Sheet
      • Handouts and/or Agendas

    Emerging Technology Tool

    Pilot an emerging technology tool in the classroom (with approval from the Florence One Director of Instructional Technology).

    • Artifacts to submit may include:
      • Evidence of Tool in Lesson Plans
      • Audio, Pictures, or Video of Student Engagement with Evidence of Tool
      • Samples of Student Projects/Products
