    Discussion at the meeting included :
    Fundraiser Update: Still collecting packets. Estimating collecting approx. $30,000 with 50% of that
    being profit.
    Book Fair Update: Volunteers still needed.
    T-Shirt Orders: A long sleeve and short sleeve order form will be sent home. Nicole Dubose is working
    on this.
    Grandparents Breakfast: Mr. Rogers & Mary Smith will set up coffee. Checks will be given to Mr.
    Rogers to pay cafeteria for breakfasts purchased for grandparents.
    Bear Buck update (Brittany): Casey & her husband will provide tractor and hayride. Looking to have
    hay donated. There will be decorating of mini-pumpkins approx .40 a piece. There will be a small cost
    for gas for tractor, decorating supplies and bouncy houses. Given a budget of $500, may exceed
    slightly, approved by all present.
    Boxtop Collection: Instead of one winning class per grade, there will be one class winner per school to
    cut back on expense of prizes.
    Incentives: Chuck E. Cheese on March 21. Pee Dee Mobil Oil, Zaxby’s, looking for other possible
    business to provide incentives.
    Discussion:
    Teachers would like to see a purchase of Compass Learning Subscription which would take the place of
    Study Island which is not being renewed by the district. Cost is approx. $3800. It was voted to proceed
    with that.
    Would anyone be interested in moving and repairing benches located at rear of property for use of day
    care bus riders, playground, etc. Teachers are to assess interest at grade level.
    Car Magnets with Steam Logo to be looked into as a part of next t-shirt order and order enough for
    Character Counts student of the week.
    Add Carver School Facebook page to Newsletters.

    Upcoming Events:
    Santa’s Workshop being planned for December 11-14 in Media Center, by Summer Strickland
    Teacher Luncheon planned on December 12th. Volunteers will be sought for serving students and
    giving teachers a duty free lunch. Desserts set up in Mrs. Pate’s room. Coffeem, cider and sweets set up
    in office the week before Christmas break for teachers and staff. Volunteer forms will be sent home.
    Evening PTO event date changed to November 16. 4th grade Thanksgiving performance.
    Bear Bucks: Possible date for Bear Bucks celebration in January 12th. Ideas are a dance or movie.
    Fundraiser: It has been decided that part of the money raised from the recent sales will go to helping
    reduce cost of field trip per student. It was agreed upon that on the permission slips for these field trips
    parents can decide to use the money to reduce the cost of their child’s trip or donate the money back to
    the PTO to be used for students who may not be able to afford the trip otherwise. Also, if there are any
    problems with items/orders to notify Katherine Mazzaroni.
    Box Tops: Include due date (October 31) in classroom/grade level newsletters. Winner for September
    was Mrs. Cox’s class.
    Incentives: Checks recieved from Lizard’s Thicket and Chuck E. Cheese. Upcoming- Sonic Night on
    November 13 and Kona Ice on November 8.
    Treasurer’s Report: Nicole Dubose is not present, current balance not reported. Recent expenses
    include Staff lunches for Fall Festival day , Bear Bucks celebration supplies, two new tailgating tents
    (available for teachers/staff to sign out).
    Compass Learning Subscription: It was agreed that PTO would pay for a school wide Compass
    Learning Subscription.
    Car Magnets with STEAM LOGO & Long Sleeve Shirt Order: Nicole Dubose (not present) will
    work with a vendor to have this ready.
    Purchase bounce houses for school use: Decided this is not feasible at this time due to insurance
    concerns. When renting, covered through vendor’s insurance.
    Duty Free Lunch: It has been decided that each month a duty free lunch will be arranged for teachers
    at a particular grade level (one grade level per month). PTO will arrange volunteers to cover cafeteria.
    4th Grade will have one duty free lunch in November. Date to be determined.

    Discussion at the meeting included :
    Santa’s Workshop: Summer Strickland that the event is coming on December 11-14 and she will be
    sending a flyer and request for volunteers in folders. Requested teachers please add to newsletters.
    December treats and luncheon: We have enough volunteers to cover lunch duty for the teachers except
    for the 4th grade time slot and enough volunteers to bring treats throughout the week and every Friday in
    January.
    December evening PTO event- December 5th, 6:00 pm. First grade Christmas musical performance.
    Melissa Marsik will present a PTO update.
    Box Tops: Due dates are included in newsletters and on school calendar. The October winner was
    Mrs. Todd’s first grade class.
    Treasurer’s report: Nicole Dubose reported that there was $15, 745.82 in account at this time. PTO
    will help fill in some gaps for the Christmas child gifts.
    Other Discussion:
    Duty Free lunch will be provided for 2nd grade teachers for a date in January (date TBA)
    Car Magnets and Long Sleeve T-shirt order will be sent home after winter break
    PTO agreed to give money to help pay for substitute teachers so that that teachers may attend various
    STEAM training opportunities. Tentative amount is $600.
