I am very thankful and excited to be the principal at Briggs Elementary School.  Having grown up in a small town, attending a local K-6 elementary school, I recognize the beauty of Briggs.  We are truly a neighborhood school and my family and I are thrilled to be Bulldogs!

I believe that education is a journey, not a destination.  As principal, I will strive to ensure that this part of your child’s journey is fantastic.  Working to guarantee each day is filled with fun learning opportunities, provided in a safe and clean environment, will be my personal mission.

Our common expectations will make sure everyone has a great experience at Briggs.  This year we will continue to teach our school wide expectations in an acronym that is easy for everyone to remember.  It’s called BARK.

Bulldogs are Accountable, Respectful, and Kind!

Briggs has a rich history in the Florence Community serving thousands of students since it’s opening in 1953.  Last year, Briggs celebrated 61 years of excellence.  In order to honor the school’s heritage, our motto will be “A Tradition of Excellence.” During the school year we will be working to create a display in our front hall showcasing past yearbooks, pictures, and plaques.

My door is always open and I encourage you to stop by and see the wonderful learning opportunities provided to our students.  Our mission will remain to Educate! Prepare! Inspire!  The community of teachers, staff, and parents at Briggs are second to none and carry out this mission each day with enthusiasm and passion.  The dedication each person brings is the reason Briggs has a tradition of excellence.  With our beautiful past serving as our foundation, I see a very bright future for Briggs’ students.

I look forward to working with you all for many years.

Welcome to Briggs!  I have been at Briggs for a total of 12 years and am excited that I am able to continue to be a Bulldog as assistant principal.  I love working with our faculty, students, and parents to help each child reach their full potential.

I received a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education and a Masters in Special Education from Francis Marion University.  I received my Masters in Educational Administration from the University of South Carolina.

My door is always open so I encourage you to call or visit if you need any assistance.  I look forward to working with the Bulldog family.
