Planning for Careers
Each individual student is required by law to do an INDIVIDUAL GRADUATION PLAN (IGP). This plan is to be reviewed and updated annually. Our district offers many electives recommended for self-enrichment; students should select a major which will enable them to focus on an area of career interest. Students, parents and counselors work together to develop an IGP that will outline the courses students will take during their high school years. The IGP will include courses required for graduation, college admission requirements if a student has chosen four year college as their post-secondary plan, as well as the electives needed to fulfill requirements for their major/area of career interest. School counselors schedule conferences with parents and students to work collaboratively on scheduling choices. Career Clusters help students acquire the knowledge and skills to reach their career goals. Click here to find out more information about the South Carolina Career Clusters.
