    Joanne B. Revell, Administrative Assistant

Joanne B. Revell has been the Administrative Assistant to the Director of Public Information for 31 1/2 years.  She has only worked for two directors during this time.  When she first came to Florence One, the only personal computer in the district was in the Office of Public Information.  She basically taught herself how to use the computer, which was a Mac, and the director at that time was glad to turn it over to her.

Joanne Revell graduated from J. C. Lynch High in Coward, SC, as Valedictorian, and she received an Associate Degree in Legal Secretarial Science from Florence-Darlington Technical College. She began her career as a Legal Secretary in Florence, followed by State jobs with Clemson University Extension Service and the Florence Police Department.  After getting married and moving with her husband's work, she worked briefly with Farmers' Home Administration and Williamsburg County School District in Kingstree, SC, followed by temporary jobs in Walterboro, SC and Augusta, GA, before the birth of their daughter, Jenna Anne Revell, and their subsequent return to Florence.  A temporary job assignment sent her to Florence School District One in 1986, and she has been there ever since.  She receives much enjoyment from desktop publishing.
