Mrs. Trula Rosa
My name is Trula Rosa. I am a Spanish teach at South Florence High School. I am also one of the sponsors for the Spanish Club. This year I am establishing the first chapter of the Spanish National Honor Society, Sociedad Honoraria Hispanica.
I have been teaching Spanish for more than 15 years. I taught for 11 years at The King’s Academy, a local private school. This is my fifth year teaching in Florence School District One. While I was part of Wilson High School, I taught Spanish 1, Spanish 2 and International Baccalaureate, Spanish V. Currently I am teaching Spanish 1 and Spanish 2. My students are in grades 10 through 12.
As part of the American Association of Teachers of Spanish and Portuguese, I am able to register my students to compete in the National Spanish Exam. This exam awards prizes and scholarship to students who demonstrate mastery at various levels. Many of my students have won the highest level of achievement on the exam. One of my level five students, who competed for a travel scholarship, won one of the 15 spots on a trip!
To me, teaching is more than a job. Teaching students is an honor. Spanish is my passion and I want to share that with my students. I want to inspire them to learn the language and the culture of Spanish speaking countries. There is no better way to learn than through experience. That is why one of my long-range goals is for my students to travel to a Spanish speaking country. Currently I am planning a Costa Rica trip with EF Tours for the summer of 2018.
