 National Grandparents Day

During the week of September 12th, the students of North Vista Elementary School celebrated National Grandparents Day.  Grandparents Day occurs each year on the first Sunday after Labor Day.  It is a time for grandparents to be honored, a time for them to enjoy their children's children, and a time to help children become aware of the strength, knowledge, and leadership grandparents can offer them.

While the school usually has Grits for Grandparents, it was time for something special and unique.  Grilling for Grandparents became the theme this year to observe National Grandparents Day.  At the event, grandparents were able to spend time with their grandchildren and enjoy a meal of a hamburger or hot dog as well as chips, a cookie, and a drink.  It was a joyous occasion and loved by all who attended.  Many grandparents expressed their gratitude as well as how much they enjoyed the event.  They are looking forward to next year.
