 North Vista at a Flash

United '74

United ’74 incorporated assisted North Vista Elementary Band Program by providing a three hundred dollar donation. Their donation will purchase an instrument for the program. North Vista is grateful that United ’74 Incorporated considered our efforts worthy and donated in order for another student to receive an instrument. Ms. Joannie Williams, Mrs. LaEdith Kelley, Mrs. Jannie H. MiClain, Ms. Brenda Green.

Read Across America

classes at North Vista dressed up as book characters to celebrate Read Across America week. Ms. Timmons 5th grade class dressed as character’s from Alice in Wonderland. Ms. Matthew’s and Ms. Pee’s Kindergarten class all dressed as the Cat in the Hat. Classes competed for best dressed. Ms. Timmon’s class won best overall.

Francis Marion Interns

Sharone Wright, general managers of the Pee Dee Vipers, and several of the players visited North Vista Elementary School last week. He and the players told 4th – 6th grade students about growing up in different areas, going to school and college, and playing basketball. Students also had the opportunity to ask questions to the players. Some students even won tickets to the Pee Dee Vipers game, which was held on Saturday, January 11.

For his rendition of "Happy," Antonio Brown of North Vista Elementary School, received second place standing and is the recipient of $100.

North Vista Elementary School has been selected out of 15 nominations as one of three winners of the 2014 High Flying School Award to be presented at the 25th National Youth-At-Risk Conference, March 2 – 5, 2014, in Savannah, Georgia. Congratulations to the North Vista Elementary family! We are flying high………………………….!
